As I said, I don't think there is no manipulation, but I think people give these forces waaaay too much credit. As you said, there were thoughts gold wold be capped at $400, and it has seen levels well over double that. Any time there is attemts to hold back something from it's natural freee market price, it adds strength to the eventual move (in my opinion).
