I was at the Kodiac booth at the Dubai precious metals conference in October. This sheikh and his entourage were at the booth, listening intently to the presentation and handling the core samples (especially the ones with the visible gold).

As he handled the core sample, he casually remarked that he wanted to buy a birthday present for one of his wives.

"How much?" he asked with perfect English.

Bill Chornobay was taken aback a little. "I'm sorry, I am not sure what you mean. The core samples aren't for sale".

He motions to someone with a briefcase. A cheque-book appears.

"Not this, the company. How much for the company?"

I missed Bill's reply - I woke up then.
