One thing I believe is that when many of the BNN experts reccomend a stock, frequently they have already established their position in it and are not actively buying. A while back someone from Sprott was on and said that his new reccomendation was one he has liked for a while and can now reccomend it because they are done buying (it had had a very good run up to that point).
I guess if they reccomended what they are planning to buy for clients today, the client would be a fool not to watch BNN and buy the same stocks themselves. As well, the "pump" might add a bit more fuel to the rally. Going through the past picks helps keep them honest (?) as if they are reccomending stocks about to dive, their annual ROR will show it!
Cheers!
