EBay evidence of the growing disconnect between paper and real bullion....
Here is just an average old Engelhard 10 ounce silver bar that just closed tonight on eBay.

The seller has good feedback and had the confidence to sell this on a one-day auction starting at 99 cents. He got 15 bids and it went for $165 plus shipping. The spot price on Kitco tonight, $13.26, so the eBay guy is getting more than a 3.00 premium per troy ounce (24 percent).
In the past, the typical premium at a coin store for a ten ounce bullion bar has ranged from 50 cents to a buck per ounce. So this bar might have gone for $138 to $148.
