Creating shareholder wealth by advancing gold projects through the exploration and mine development cycle.
What should perform better in a bear market than a Kodiak?
The trading today is just another indication of how piss-poor market sector sentiment will dictate the performance of a stock. Like every other NR we have had, and similar to most of the other juniors this year, people just sell the news. Thats it. The kind of retail schmucks that believe what they see reported on CNBC, and believe the bearish analysts that the commodity story is over, those people cant wait to see a high volume event to sell into and move to the sidelines. And that is what we got into the close, on a Friday of a long weekend.
Some people will spin this as a disappointment on the news, but I am not buying that nonsense. The story has evolved beyond just looking for isolated high grade intercepts. We now have significantly increased the size of the main discovery zones, plus we have documented numerous distinct projects within a larger mining camp. That is the importance of the news today.
300km of highly prospective property area controlled. Gold values in every hole. Stop and think about that... The Cadillac Break is one of the most prolific gold districts in all of Canada, and no one company controls very much of it. Tens of millions of ounces have been produced from that district, yet even there one does not find gold in every hole.
The biggest surprise for me from that NR was the wide zone of high grade gold they hit in a follow up the WL zone. Remember, that was the location of the original discovery that got the whole story going early last year.
I am also happy to see the degree of technical discussion and visual presentations that the company provided. 3D modeling of the vein as has been encountered so far at the Golden Mile, plus the Mag survey interpretation, and the cross section of the gold zones, all build a strong case that the best remains ahead.
So my opinion overall is that the trading behaviour today is just a fakeout, and not surprising given how pathetic the entire sector has been lately. I am going to sit around this weekend and re-read the entire release a few times.
As always, I urge people to just make their own decisions and not be overly influenced by what anyone says on a forum. My comments are strictly my own opinion and I am neither an analyst nor an advisor. I do not receive any compensation for posting.
Have a great weekend folks. This story is just starting to get interesting. Do not let the bastards get you down.
cheers!
