I must admit that I did start out as a pilot is the RCAF in '63 but after the Link trainer session in Centralia,I was washed out on borderline high frequency hearing test..I was devastated..
They offered me the navigators seat, but at 18 years old..a "Hot " cold war going on..years of reading everything I could of WWll Spitfire and Hurricane pilots fighting the evil Hun over Britain..to be washed out killed me...I went home and had second thoughts and went back and signed up as ground crew and had a very successful 14 year career in the RCAF until I got out in '77 and started my own business..only the first of four very successful companies I would eventually own...
I probably would have ended up a skid mark on the end of a runway somewhere anyway(Sniff......)
Did manage a little stick time over the years though, flying F104 duals in Urrup...biggest thrill of my life..flying back seat with an ex Red Knight over Sardinia..in a Widowmaker...
I have a few stories to tell in Vegas..We won't have a boring minute there..
Now the markets are closed and I missed it writing this post..But tomorrow is another day...
