Creating shareholder wealth by advancing gold projects through the exploration and mine development cycle.
Goldmember, the picture for your Agoracom ID is that guy (I known him from somewhere) giving a warm buddhist greeting, right?
Are you being ironic by snarling at Portee's joke attempt?
Yeah, I'm ready to see the joke thing left aside by now, and we can still tell dirty jokes by using enough *^&- in the middle of words. Agoracom has an automatic filter for naughty words, and all power to them. They can't be nannying us in detail, and everything we write is now indexed by Google, so they have to keep up a good public face.
But credit that people here get a little tetchy (like yourself) without news and with a bargain stock price. It's like dogs when they're about to get fed - not the best time for quiet communication.
Instead of snarling, how about some sparkling insights from you?
I am not picking on you - we're all in this boat together, and a good thing too. It was a nice reminder when Agora responded recently to a question with "contact KXL management yourself" - the point is, KXL is not in the Agora stable. It is such a star that Agoracom kindly makes room for us, so as to encourage their other, paying, boards. Keep that in mind.
There have been some items still worth discussing:
1) As much as chuckdog got under some peoples' skin, he does bring up some worthwhile points. I have no problem at all with naysayers - keeps us real. The shares from the PP last Fall, I think he's right that they're coming up for trading. However, if anything, I think they'll reinforce the $2+ floor we have been having, in that $3.80 is far above $2.20, and although they could put a glass ceiling in above $4, I doubt it, as many of them were sold to deep, long-term pockets who will have a mind to hold out for much more.
2) It's still a big deal that the 1.4 million shorts got covered. They stood there for months. On the negative side, it means that a good bit of the share support has been short covering rather than normal trading, and the share price now doesn't have the built-in cushion of shorts needing to cover. However, I think that's outweighed by the fact that the shorts have been pretty smart, and they seem to figure this is the cheapest possible price to reacquire shares at. I'm with them, and have been buying.
3) Mid-May 2008 NR and May 13 New York Hard Assets Show - might be the link-up made in heaven. Best possible place to show some interesting assay results.
There may be a limited amount of hard results, in that the weather was poor, only three drills mostly, breakdown for a short while, perpetual assay delays etc. You could say that they are just poking their heads out after a tough Winter. There is no guarantee of great results, and KXL is just testing the tip of the iceberg in terms of the total drill program. Almost the whole story is yet to be told.
I compared with ARU and they had a very long string of good drill results before being firmly on a higher share price plateau (e.g. $4, $5, $7). That's reality.
But I do like the idea of larger bunches of results in that there is a greater chance of something good being in there. May the KXL veins look like upside-down carrots!
4) Q: Why have all the junior explorers been hammered? It has been driving even our well-tempered Coach247 crazy. My answer - I see that with the enormous subprime debacle, there is a huge push for cash. The banks are epically broke - the most broke collectively in 100 years. Net non-borrowed capital is deeply negative, for the first time in history. It's staggeringly dangerous. For the gold stocks, juniors are also highly cyclical, and they are all in a low cycle - eveyone got swacked. On top of that, juniors tend to fly at the final tip of a general runup, the last of which died in 2007. Stocks got way overdone. Gold juniors are a bit like precious metals and fine art, in that they are bought up when everyone is flush.
That said, there is no keeping down a good value. KXL is a historic opportunity, which will probably make sense in any market. During the crash and the Depression, Homestake Mining zoomed up, ignoring the general market.
There has been nothing wrong with KXL - gold in every grab, every hole. But as Coach said, we did get ahead of ourselves last Fall. Now we are putting in a very solid base.
...
Many people continue to make good contributions on this board. So, anything else of a substantial nature?
What the heck, at this point even another good joke with make me smile. And Namaste to you, goldmember.
