I spoke with some friends in Geraldton on the weekend.

The snow is melting - but there is still lots of it! They are still sledding and fishing.

Not sure how this will affect drilling, but the lack of deep frost could be a problem in 3-4 weeks.

But here is my prediction - watch for an early fire season. My best season as a fire-fighter followed the big snow year of 1995. And - wildfire cycles used to follow a 10 year pattern - the spring season of 1999 produced mongo fires on May 2. Fires will cause minor slowdowns, but I am still looking down the road to good news.

Unlike most of the KXLers, we are still a quarter shy of my average price.
