I think worrying about shorts is a bit like worrying about the weather. There isn't much you can do about either that is significant. I have not shorted, though am looking into trading options as price protection and to be able to profit in down times, or when a stock looks seriously overpriced. Looking at it philisophically, a short is someone who sells with a promise to buy, where a long buys with a promise to sell at some point (or die with your shares!). Should we get that Hallelujah NR we all dream of, those shorts will be buying to cover, driving up the price. If we fall, they will cover to take profit and their buying will slow the descent, so I think it is a moot point as long as they are using "real" shares.
Language. You do fine Mastercard! I hope we have a designated translator in Vegas so I can be told if and when Proto sticks me with a barb and i don't realize.
I might even try buying on the dip for some trading shares, something I haven't really done up till now with resource stocks.
My greens lately have been ECA, DML, BKE. Solars are hurting, just treading water, and I even took a chance on Citigroup when it looked like they might be in for a bounce but it hit my stop loss a dollar and two days later. Ah well, no guts, no glory.
