I hate to loose money, even if only paper loss. However, one of the ways I deal with it is to play mental games. As an example, if I have a paper loss of 20 k within my RRSP, I only think about it as 10 k, since the tax man, in the end, will collect the difference anyway. So I look at it as a slap in the face of the tax man, and that makes me happy. When I win, I try to ignore him.
