The ratio of Gold to the Phidadelphia Exchange Gold & Silver Index (XAU) with today's close is 4.97. Historically, 5.00 and above have proven to be the correct time to buy precious metal shares.

The correct time to sell these stocks is when the XAU ratio declines to 3.0 or so divided into gold.

Actually, I was thinking of off-loading a few gold coins and buying some select natural resource explorers like KXL. If gold goes to its natural level of around 2400, adjusted to a true inflation indicator, or so the percentage returns that the explorers will produce will greatly over-shadow gold's percentage gain.

Gold may well prove to be a percentage laggard compared to silver and all precious metal related stocks in the many months ahead.
