Creating shareholder wealth by advancing gold projects through the exploration and mine development cycle.
How far along is KXL in its development compared to NOT?
What is being compared here? I would suggest that they have progressed to about the same stage in the evolution of a discovery on the current focal projects.
Comparing current properties attracting attention:
Kodiak Hercules
primarily Gold (high grade gold bearing veins)
property covers approximately 1400 square kilometers
traced 20 kms of gold vein structure on surface; know that they have been drilling along at least 400m of Golden Mile surface vein; had previously drilled other other veins (Several parallel or ladder veins perhaps 2 to 15 metres wide with unknown depth have been identified within the 30 square kilometer Hercules discovery area)
Kodiak control discovery and immediate surrounding area for a number of kilometers
close to infrastructure
perhaps 12 months away from proving true significance and being taken over, and resource could be exploited within a few years
project is well financed
last project update was late Nov 2007
Noront Double Eagle
primarily Nickel (high grade ore body)
property covers approximately 670 square kilometers
know that they are drilling along ore body that is tube shaped for a length of 200m (200m x 100m area is currently the area of focus)
Noront control immediate discovery area although another company claim is a few 100 metres away from current drilling that is taking place
isolated with very limited infrastructure
perhaps 12 months away from proving true significance and being taken over, and resource could only be exploited within perhaps a decade
project is well financed
last project update was start of Jan 2008
Comparing their properties previously attracting most of the attention:
Kodiak Caribou NWT property
a large nickel and copper bearing sulphide system is present in the Caribou Lake mafic complex, which has the potential to host a significant nickel and copper ore body
property covers approximately 340 square kilometers
Kodiak flew a 2300 line-kilometre VTEM and magnetic survey over the length of the Caribou Lake intrusion yielding exceptionally high quality data. Fourteen major and 72 secondary VTEM conductors were identified along a nine kilometre conductive trend. 15,000 m of drilling to date has added to extensive information on property geology.
limited infrastructure with direct deep water access via Great Slave Lake to the Mackenzie Highway and the transcontinental railhead at Hay River and is approximately 90 km from the city of Yellowknife, NWT
Noront Windfall Quebec property
primarily Gold (some good drill results; working on establishing a resource estimate)
property covers approximately 20 square kilometers
With 200 sparse drill hole coverage on the property, it is difficult to develop a predictive model for the gold mineralization. To ascertain the content and dimensions of any potentially economic gold mineralization and other geological controls not evident in diamond drill holes, underground ramp and diamond drill programs of approximately $5.5 million is being undertaken. Permitting for an underground exploration ramp has been received. The surface work required to be completed prior to the start of the proposed exploration ramp has been completed and the construction of the ramp is anticipated to commence in January 2008.
limited infrastructure with seasonal access using logging roads and is approximately 250 km from the city of Val-d’Or, Québec
