Investlots, don't know if these are true shorts in the way we generally regard shorts. THese plays could be major longs who are hedging their long positions. Kind of like insurance. Don't know how else to explain why a person would short this stock but it certainly explains why they would increase to cover when it does go up. Some investors are sharp enough to play it both ways.
