Every once in a while I get my comeuppance.  Happy today to me.

So - anyone know a lot more about this?

I have to admit I don't understand it fully - why would other houses cooperate with the market maker?  What are the mechanics of pushing the price around (I have the general idea, but there must be more to it)? Who gains and who loses by how much in these maneouvres?
