Yes KXL is speculation - and no offense is intended at all. KXL is a speculative stock - it has zero earnings, and in this incarnation a very short record.
Value investing is about long-term old companies who have years of earnings and dividends, and then trying to shave pennies off their stock price when they dip to $97.80 so that you can sell them at $99.80.
Please don't take offense - it's just a technical term. I am very long on KXL because it's a good "value". But it's not "value investing"
