Good call - I have the Jesse Livermore book (Reminiscences of a Stock Operator) on my shelf here. The trend is your friend in big stocks, and the overall big trend can be your friend in small stocks. A temporary break in the trend means buy, not sell - I'm learning.
I hiccuped at the 2.08 breakdown and regret it very much. Raised my cost.
I wonder if it's just our perception that there's a breakdown before the NR rise. In retrospect we can paint it that way. In reality, there is always a decay before news.
I investied in gold mines 25 years ago, when the weather was a bigger factor, and the news was so extremely seasonal. Didn't mean a thing, but had to be traded.
A NR is always going to interrupt a natural slow slide, so we see it as a breakdown.
Of course, there is plenty of manipulation and attempts to shake out weak hands, shorts (if there are any) and stop losses. This stock is getting into an ideal range to do that.
By the way - anyone have a good site that gives short interest for Canadian stocks?
