I have been retired for about 5 years..

Been trading about 20 years..

I'll tell you ..working and trading sucks..

Trading stocks has become a full time portfolio management job..

Gotta be on line when the markets are open..

Getting a winner like KXL in 5 different accounts gives you lots of options..

Two are tax protected ..three are not..so buying and selling triggers tax gains and losses what ever I do ..with any stock ,on the outside,non tax protected accounts..

If I sell inside ,gains are not taxed..but any money I take out of those accounts are taxed as income at my normal rate...

If I sell outside..gains are taxed at my normal rate of tax ,but only apply to 50% of my gain..

So for me ..buying and sell is a ballancing act of "How do I screw the tax ,man...??

Hard to do..impossible actually..The bank issues me a tax statement at the end of the year and sends a copy to revenue Canada..

So buying and selling is a full time job..and balancing my wife and my income to be at the best tax rate is imperative..

So it is not ...how much money do we have at any one time in our normal day to day checking account ..it's how much money do we want..??and to pay tax on...

The bottom line..

And then there is the terrible decisions like....where are we going on holidays..???

When..???

What kind of car do you want..??

Want to move..??

Where do you want to live..??

Need money for shopping...??

My wallet is on the dresser..help your self...

No bills this month..??You are slipping..

We'll be in recession if you don't spend more...

I have spent at least 5 weeks this year travelling and visiting and will settle down until Feb.and it will start all over again..holidays and travelling...

It's nice to be home for a while..

So retirement is not all that is cracked up to be ..but it sure beats working for some idiot ..bosses son in law ...that is dumb as a post  and couldn't find his A$$ with both hands..but he is your boss..

And snivilling for time off..

But I'll survive the stress..and hardship...

of retirement...
