About the Lawsuit
Pretium and certain of its executives are charged with issuing a series
of materially false and misleading statements during the Class Period,
in violation of federal securities laws.
These included, in part, failing to disclose that: (a) Pretium had not
secured credible evidence regarding the quantity or quality of reserve
estimates it claimed during the Class Period; (b) one of the companies
Pretium hired to provide an analysis of the quantity and quality of
reserves was not using reliable methodology; (c) two of the companies
that Pretium hired to conduct these analyses did not agree on the
methodology; and (d) Pretium's estimates reported during the Class
Period were not as reliable as the Company led the market to believe.
