VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 2, 2009) - Potash One Inc. (the "Company" or "Potash One") (TSX:KCL) is pleased to announce that the Company has appointed John S. McEwan, P.E., as Vice President of Solution Processing, for its Legacy Potash project in southern Saskatchewan. John is a registered professional engineer with a B.S. and M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and has over 30 years experience in the chemical processing industry which included solution mining from pilot plant to commercial operation. His various roles have included process, project, and research engineering, and production and technical management. Previous to his position at Potash One, Mr. McEwan was the principal Process Engineer for Rio Tinto, responsible for process and project engineering duties for feasibility studies and recovery of potash from Rio Tinto potash deposits in Argentina and Canada. These projects have recently been sold to Vale for US$850 million dollars. In 1998, Mr. McEwan joined American Soda, LLP. as the Technical Manager. In this role, and working with Max Ramey, Potash One's Vice President of Solution Mining, John was responsible for detailed design, construction and start-up of a 1.3 million tonne/year green field $350M solution mine/chemical plant system for the production of sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate and CO2 recovery in Colorado. He also performed a supervisory role to the technical department, consisting of process/project engineering, plant efficiency calculations, process and product quality trouble shooting, and new project development.
