  • Relentless Demand: Oil and gas currently account for more than half of global energy supply, and fossil fuels are expected to continue to be the main source for world energy well into the 20th century (Source: International Energy Agency). Worldwatch Institute notes oil production is in decline in 33 of the 48 largest oil-producing countries (Source: Worldwatch Institute), but energy demand is increasing around the globe. By 2020, some predict that the world's energy consumption will be 40% higher than it is today (Source: World Energy Outlook 2004). The total global oil and gas consumption is 127.8 million barrels per day, or 1,480 barrels per second (Source: OPEC.org). Platina Energy Group is working to fulfill this tremendous and growing demand in innovative ways that produce minimal environmental impact. Also, global consumption of natural gas is expected to increase more in absolute terms than that of any other primary energy source, almost doubling to 4,900 bcm in 2030. Demand for natural gas is projected to grow 2.8% annually through 2025, faster even than projected demand for oil (Source: International Energy Agency). In particular, demand for natural gas in Canada, the United States, and Mexico is increasing. In the United States, 60% of all homes are heated with gas, and 70% of new homes are designed for natural gas consumption.
  • New Technology, New Source: PLTG has exclusive representation, marketing and distribution rights to a proprietary TPU (Thermal Pulse Dynamic Lifting Unit) technology application to recover heavy oil. Heavy oil accounts for only 8% of our daily U.S. production, with California accounting for nearly all of the heavy oil produced in the U.S. However, there are significant reserves in many other states that have heavy oil and tar sands. In the United States, tar sands resources are estimated at 12 to 19 Billion barrels (Source: ostseis.anl.gov). The TPU technology combines conventional compression and pumping ability in a very novel way. The device combines "off the shelf" components with proprietary assembly and uses applications in a user-friendly manner. The result is the most efficient and safest machine of its kind in the market place. With the Thermal Pulse Technology and its associated opportunities, Platina Energy is confident in its ability to expand at a rapid rate.
  • In February of 2008, Platina Energy Group announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Wildcat Energy is expected to be operationally profitable in March according to local field office reports, and that the Company is reworking several existing wells and anticipates infill drilling to commence shortly. Also in February, Platina announced that Kenner #4 is now in the completion phase. During drilling, the operator reported a particularly long stretch of the Devonian Shale Formation as compared to the other wells. Strong indications of gas were present from as shallow as 600 feet. Accordingly, this could be the most promising well on the prospect to date. Blair Merriam, President of Platina Energy Group, stated, "With natural gas prices over $8 per mcf, we're cautiously optimistic that revenues from the Tennessee Field run by Appalachian Energy could be considerably higher than forecasted. These wells have high-grade gas with average estimated production at 100-200mcf per day. With the new net revenue increase to Platina, these first four wells could deliver $75-150 thousand per month to the Company at current pricing."
