Hi sharky;
I have no idea what to expect in terms of a 2010 share price. I bought in too high so I need to buy some more to lower my break even point. I'm waiting for it to go down into the .80 - 90 cent range so that I can buy more and lower my average price. After that there is no way for me to predict what it can go to. I remember when Petrolifera shares were first released for sale on the stock exchange years ago, that within about 6 days it went from a little over $2.00 to $6.00 when they drilled several successful oil wells on the fields that they are producing now in Argentina.
Many of the analysts say that Colombia is the spot to drill for oil right now and with Grand Tiera and Petrominerales having huge success there, Petrolifera shares will be primed to take off on any drilling success in 2010. But success will not be over night this time as many past shareholders of Petrolifera are wary of buying back in I would think. If La Pinta is a huge success I would be happy to see it go to $4.00 initially but this is only a wish on my part with nothing to back it up. If the other wells to be drilled in Colombia in 2010 are successful as well and problem free (a big question mark here) then the shares will go higher. There are a lot of ifs. Petrolifera also doesn't have very much money to spend on drilling as their entire capital budget for 2010 is a little over $50 million and La Pinta 1 has cost them already around $25 million a month or two ago I believe management stated, so unless they find partners to share the cost they won't get many wells drilled in Colombia and they have already factored sharing the costs with partners into their 2010 capital budget. If Petrolifera spikes up on any success I am going to sell a percentage of my shares and retrieve all of my capital next time and ride the free shares.
Best Wishes; Scott
