Toronto AI to 'skyrocket': McKinsey

Toronto’s artificial intelligence sector is poised to “skyrocket,” a McKinsey partner tells BNN Bloomberg. Federico Berruti told the outlet that Canada is an attractive place to work, leading to a cash infusion from investors. McKinsey recently listed Toronto among its 16 global tech hubs with a focus on AI. While AI infrastructure has expanded and tech workers are flocking to the city, Berruti says governments and businesses also need to embrace the industry for it to grow. He noted that compensation in Canadian tech tends to be as much as 50% lower than for U.S. counterparts.
