What happens if POET is unable to fulfil orders for the people in the quote?

I am remembering this PR from October (which has come and left without any news of production numbers)

"POET, SPX and YST will initially collaborate on 100G CWDM4, POET ONE, 100G LR4 and 200G FR4 transmitter products. All the design verifications and reliability testing of the optical engines is complete and all will be released to production this month.  Current module customers for these products include ADVA, Beijing FeiYunYi (BFYY) and Fibertop, along with others whose names have not yet been disclosed."

Thinking further ahead, what happens to POET if they are unable to supply an agreement with CAI later next year (Starlight etc.) ?

Why would these companies see what is happening to POET and sit idly by, while there's significant money on the line, and just let POET run out of funds (unless there is no ink that needs to dry on any deals) ?
