10:35 AM EST, 01/19/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Cisco Systems (CSCO) has secured conditional approval from China's State Administration for Market Regulation for its planned $4.5 billion acquisition of Acacia Communications (ACIA), according to media reports.
The Chinese regulator's approval hinges on the companies continuing existing contracts with Chinese customers for the next five years and the merged firm to provide fair and non-discriminatory services to Chinese clients, according to Bloomberg News.
Cisco raised its buyout offer for Acacia to $4.5 billion last week after the latter backed out of the deal due to issues with the approval from China's market regulator.
