Yeah! What that guy said. Nicely put Zim.
Lumenge. I will also stop posting on this subject. People just view things differently. And that is ok.I happen to see it exactly like ZimZim stated.
As for InThisThinRain and Guernsey21 my apologies. Not my intention to offend you or your country. I think Canada is great. Been there several times.
Universal healthcare is something that sounds nice in theory. I just don't know how practical it is. I am however interested in learning more about it. From what I know or think I know. It only covers basic needs and one is still required to carry private insurance for major medical needs.
Here in the states I believe our healthcare could use a definate improvement. Just not sure what or how it should be done. It is a problem that is not easily remedied. However if you need to see a specialist here its on average of days or weeks. MRI's, as you stated is what I do and can be performed same day under medicare or in a few days with proper authorization. If you choose to pay cash instead of insurance the cost here in Florida is about $300 bucks sometime less.
Doctors here earn a fantastic salary. Especially surgeons. My belief is there is a lack of incentive when money is taken out as a motivating factor. Again brings me back to free enterprise and capitalism. Lets take our Poet for example. I'm sure Suresh gets a feeling of self gratification for supplying the world with a new innovation that is beneficial but if you think major dollar signs arn't attached to his thought process guess again.
