Leafs, according to the article from South China Morning Post, linked below, the Chinese have a contingency plan should trade with the West not resume to its previous level as the Trade War continues to effect their economy and the SARS-CoV-2 situation has a similar detrimental effect. They plan to "GO WEST", but more in the context of developing their western provinces, although the Belt and Road Initiative is still being pushed at the same time.
