Looking at page 20 (month august) you can read about flexible solar panels made of GaAs by NREL:
Using their improved dynamic hydride vapor-phase epitaxy (D-HVPE) process, NREL scientists produced a flexible, high-efficiency multijunction solar cell using gallium arsenide (GaAs)—a material previously considered too expensive to use anywhere but in space. With the
reduced manufacturing costs, solar cells using this technology could potentially enter markets where their high efficiency of converting sunlight into electricity would prove desirable and competitive.
Makes me think of bygone eras.
