RTV, Agreed that likely no poet tech involved, however not so sure I agree this rules out Cisco (or anyone else) as the Denselight buyer. My read of the patent describes an advanced design signal splitter, probably for passive optical networks (GPON). The main feature being the ability to adjust split ratio ( eg 2:1 or 3:1,etc.) whereas the current state of technology has built-in fixed ratio signal splitting; likely some advantages to having this capability. I don’t think this has any connection with the OI, or competes with it. It appears this variable splitter can be used in conjunction with a number of different types of optical waveguides as required.
