Message: Re: Why Apple & Finisar (with POET) Might be Happening.

In deed, ITTR,
it is quite interesting to see that Mrs. Basak was trained for one year about the POET technology, and then went to Finisar.  There she worked for another year, and Apple now announced a colaboration with Finisar.

Oh well, I see two scenarios:
1. Apple, Finisar and our Poet are all involved in a project under hefty NDA and we only will know once products are out in the market

or

2. Poet was not able to deliver (in time), so they now have to develope their technology with India - which still is interesting, as a company like Samsung for sure will like to compete with Apple.

Question: Does POET here need the 4th terminal for a monolytic chip with VCSEL + logic + detector? I had the impression this was needed for the fast data transfer in an AOC. For chips like faceID speed is not that relevant. What was done with ASTAR in this field?
Size of the chip in handhelds is quite important... Something in the Finisar Technology seemed to be ways better then Lumentums toy?!

By the way, Face ID is by far not the best technology.
Please have a look at Fujitsus PalmSecure technology (using NIR to detect the structures of the vains in your palm/hand). Also here POET should have all the technology in hands (SLED + detectors...)
