It's probably more that they didn't know there WAS production facilities in Malasyia....

If you are referencing Denselight, located in Signapore, their present "manufacturing" capability is relatively small, with wafer capabilities of 3 and 4 inch. The facility is presently undergoing expansion and upgrading.
