I have farm land in SE Sask with a bunch of Lightstream wells, formerly PetroBank, then PetroBakken..These wells all produce natural gas that is stored at their battery that is about 5 miles away.. The plan is to drill some more wells and pump natural gas down into the Bakken formation to chase the oil out which increases production.. They have one site staked out on my land for one of these wells but I have not heard anything for a month or so.. Maybe with the oil price drop everything is on hold.. The cheapest place to store oil is in the ground. The Bakken formation is nothing new.. I had a couple of Bakken wells drilled in 1985 but they were the convential wells so no great shakes.. The new horizontal tech. with fracking makes them a go.. There may be another formation called the Three Forks beneath the Bakken in our area which is Lightstream and Crescent Point mainly.. There are 3 forks wells drilled along the North Dakota, Sask border which is only about 50 miles away.. It could be big as well.. My mineral rights are with Crescent point and my monthly cheques are getting smaller and smaller..lol.. Shoot !! I live in BC now so I am kind of out of the loop as it were.
