Don't these guys know about POET?
Sheesh, it's all solved, just get on board.
Now, to be fair, the POET stuff is not field tested in volume, so he's got his wish list and is not counting on the POET solution. I guess Mitsubishi, Foxconn, Luxshare, Multilane and CAI will pat him on the head at some point and help him discover that it has been solved.
Am I missing something? I suppose that, since things have been done at the bench level for so long, there is a ton of customizing needed to have a drop in replacement. Maybe standards are in the future, so that a few form factors can be served by POET or whoever else can compete with CMOS based chips like POET. In a few years?
