Thanks Mazan! What is really interesting to me is that Suresh on a very limited budget has continued to develop the platform for new applications. For example the ability to integrate VCSELs  into the platform and take the multimode output from these lasers, resize and steer the light for manipulation into the waveguides. Its moves like this to produce an extensive library of devices that will make POET the de-facto optical integration technology.

People must be aware by now that Suresh sees numerous applications for this technology. I think this company is going to grow very quickly as the industry gets on board to utilize this platform to fit their needs. Whether that is LiDAR or biometrics there is a whole new world of applications that this platform can dominate. 

I was asked recently what is different about POET re 800G pluggable transceivers built by others.

My response:

The short answer which Suresh has stated in the past is that existing 800G in a pluggable form factor is a feat of engineering excellence and requires the use of every bit space available. POETs small size allows multiple engines to be placed within the limited space of a pluggable. It also shortens the electrical connections such that linear drive removing the power hungry DSP can be achieved.
