Good points. Looking at the transaction list for today there were no substantial trades that would indicate any significant institutional investment (unless they are accumulating in very small trades).

With regards to the price is was held in a very tight range considering the massive volume. This has to be ATM activity. 

This is by far the most exciting trading day in a long time.
