People should be aware that POET will be using both the DML and EML. The reason POET chose to integrate the 100G DML in the first place is because they can. They are very energy efficient and compact but others have not been able to make them work because their platforms simply do not have the same capabilities as the optical interposer. 

The 200G EML gives POET a straight line to 3.2T so I don’t think there was much hesitation on Suresh’s part to make that move once they became available to POET.

When I asked the company whether they have taken another look at OE modulators given that Lightwave Logic just announced the capability to achieve 400G Lambda the answer was they are still at least 10 years away.
