Workman, we definitely need to learn more about this new VCSEL. From my point of view I see this as potentially a greater opportunity for POET in terms of integrating new devices as they become relevant to industry. Since Adtran currently uses the POET's Optical Interposer on the receive circuit for reduced footprint and the ultimate solution is to use the Optical Interposer for both transmit and receive in the same footprint by overlapping the waveguides it would likely be a natural progression to integrate this new VCSEL into the Optical Interposer.
This is where POET’s strength lies. The ability to mix and match devices into a highly efficient platform and do it at low cost and in a reduced time frame. It is why Surresh has developed generic elements to increase flexibility and reduce time to market.
