III-V optical sources for high bit rate fiber transmission (Invited Paper)

Currently, there is no short-reach transceiver standard for 800 Gb/s available. The market is only now starting to develop for 400G whereas 800G deployments are expected after 2023 (relevant standards will be ratified). In this rationale leveraging the performances of the new generation of III/V high-power DFB and DML will allow to reach a compact transceiver, providing low loss, high data rates and low cost. In this invited presentation, we will show our recent achieving of high-performance Si-BH technology for HP-DFB and DMLs. This technology is expected to exhibit low propagation loss and high coupling efficiency for photonic integrations specifications

I am currently employed as team leader of datacom sources team in Almae Technologies, France (a spinoff of Nokia Bell Labs) since 2017. My work has always been dealing with Semiconductor Opto-Electronics devices and systems. I have a strong expertise in design, including bandgap engineering in III–V semiconductor, MBE growth, fabrication in clean room and testing of III-V based semiconductor devices (LED, LASER Diode...). I also have an experience with the SiP platform via various collaboration with industrial partner as POET photonics. I have been working in the field of Semiconductor Opto-Electronics devices and systems for the past 15 years and have held a few positions in reputed research center as CNRS (France), Tyndall national Institute (Ireland) in collaboration with several manufacturer of optical and photonic products.
