When I first read that Samsung comment in the report I actually wondered what it has to do with POET as there has not been any information that I have seen that there is any connection between POET and Samsung. I do know Samsung took a financial interest in Celestial via a recent raise they did so it of course would be relevent to those two companies.

As generative AI startups race to court investors and Big Tech players make aggressive competitive moves, both parties are running into the same problem: extremely high computing demands coupled with sky-high energy consumption.

Celestial AI, which develops photonics-based chips and technology frameworks, just raised a $100 million Series B to address these challenges. The round was led by IAG Capital Partners, Koch Disruptive Technologies and Temasek's Xora Innovation fund. Samsung Catalyst and automaker Porsche also joined, among others.
