Unless we are part of the newest group of investors, we are nothing but a nuisance to the company. This is not a dramatic comment, it’s a fact, we bring no further value unless we are putting money in their coffers.
So, if it takes massive dilution to raise cash, it hurts the class of investors they have the least concern about, spent money and speculators. Insiders don't lose value on shares they do not own.
The idea of hitting the “Refresh” and bringing on a new set of (less jaded, not decimated) investors, fresh and 100% optimistic, is likely a pleasant afterthought. So we will be diluted to irrelevance. No rewards for longevity. .
I think the deal will go off at a dollar USD and a $2 warrant. I believe management and some board will participate significantly, and pat themselves on the back as saviors of sorts. So be it, it will help move the share price in the right direction. At this point there is nothing more positive to hope for than for them to get the money to continue with commercialization.
When they get the funding, we recover, eventually, maybe, make a bit, but that’s 2-3 years off once again and a hypothetical billion dollar market cap will bring at best a share price half as high as before the offering, perhaps a lot less.
But, be very certain, while you may have responsibility for how much personal damage you have incurred, you are in no way to blame for what occurred, anyone that says otherwise can cuff right off.
This failure is solely at the feet of management and those who are paid to advise them, and it has been a spectacle. Reputations are damaged and there should be anger in each, whether due to any combination of negligence, incompetence, ignorance, hubris and or unforeseen, but not in foreseeable, circumstances. Every damned one needed to do better than they did. We tried to warn them. But those that remain in seats of power will feed well on even lower priced options and might even put a little of their own skin in the game. And they will still be paid very well.
Get the dam thing done.
Finally, please consider a name change. POET Technologies has been a place where more than a decade of investor dreams have gone to die. There is no longer any positive value in this name.
