German Forum: "What I can say is the thing that chinese companies like to have a strategy to "let you feel" that they like the deal. And at the very end... at 99% of the deal the just say: No, we do not do it. And then they try to get better conditions. Chinese deal partners are really tough deal partners. And because of this I was super happy after POET announced the deal with SANAN. This deal was huge!!! Really really good. And exactly because of this I really thought this is POET's breakthrough. But at the moment, what shall I say, at the moment this deal does not mean so much anymore if the financing was stratgically made the way to let POET think everything is fine and POET probably said to other deal partners we have a better deal. This can be used as strategy... The real reality is not only rosy. And this strategy could be used by other partners as well. I do not want to blame chinese folks and companies... But my knowledge is just what I have seen in my life."

The Chinese have a reputation for “not abiding by the contract" or for changing contractual terms after they have been agreed.
