I returned to China recently to meet with our China semiconductor industry leaders and host a CEO Roundtable session and dinner. The message was clear from these leaders --they want to stay connected and collaborate. It is important for leaders to nurture relationships --and honestly nothing replaces a handshake, eye-to-eye contact, sharing a cup of tea or a glass of wine. I have missed this over the last three years.
It was also great to meet so many female leaders including Aglaia Kong, Jianying Peng, Yvonne Liu, Shengnan WANG, Xiaoxin Qiu, Lydia Shen, Helen Su, and Grace Gong.
Central to our identity at the Global Semiconductor Alliance is the prominent 'G', signifying our resolute commitment to providing a neutral global platform for our industry. At the GSA we hold to the ideal of companies sharing the innovation burden to attain efficiency and profitability meant to facilitate sufficient R&D that will in turn accelerate innovation.
Throughout the history of our industry, value creation has been a product of open standards, global cooperation, equitable market access, and the safeguarding of intellectual property.
I have no idea what will happen this week between the two world leaders but we hope that there will be a return to a more normalized relationship between the two because at the end of the day we need China and vice-versa.
Thank you to VeriSilicon Holdings Co., Ltd. and Giantec for making these sessions possible! Thanks to my friend Wayne Dai, Qiwei Ren and Laurence Zhang.
