For tax loss harvesting (from non-reg to TFSA).

If you do in-kind, you lose this benefit (since the sell/buy happens in less than 30 days and is considered superficial).

Better to sell, realize the loss for taxes (if there is a loss), wait 30 days, then buy them back in your TFSA.
