Excellent work Jamie. I did not have a chance to listen to the presentation so your posts are very important to me. It sounds like POET has the opportunity to use SPX capacity for contract manufacturing of high value POET modules. One would think however that the benefits derived from meeting the requirements for 800G and beyond in a pluggable will drive industry to the table to facilitate production outside of China. At this point it appears that POET is the only game in town that can both achieve the footprint needed and the capability to ramp to the numbers that will be required for global supply. POET has established a high volume supply of reliable DML's from Lumentum which is of course a very key device for low cost, energy efficient optical engines that do not require a modulator.
When we compare the stages that POET's peer group is at it provides a great example of how quickly POET has progressed. Rockley's Andrew Rickman stepping down as CEO was a real surprise. Pretty hard to shine a light on Rockley without him in the picture. I think it suggests that they are once again going to fail to make a differentiated saleable product.
And LightwaveLogic appears to still be in development with a big part of their focus on continuing to highlight patents.
Looking forward to hearing those important/exciting announcements that Suresh has indicated will be provided beginning in January if I followed correctly.
