A 1.6T pluggable is going to be an iconic moment for industry. No one has had the capability to do this. 

So let’s try to deliver the clearest message possible so people understand just how unique the POET optical interposer platform is.

POET has a complete solution for optical integration. Companies today who can build an 800G pluggable have achieved an amazing feat of engineering to fit all the components required into a pluggable form factor with existing technologies. But that’s it, they are maxed out. 

Go to slide 10. Now look at the space that the POET optical interposer occupies starting with 400G in a QSFP form factor.

Below that is 2 X400G shown in an OSFP form factor which is larger and was created to accommodate the existing technology roadmap. But look closely at that graphic. POET does not need the extra space that OSFP provides to accommodate existing systems.

And below that is OSFP-XD to allow even more space to accommodate the amount of space that a 1.6T in a pluggable might need for 4 X400G.

The size of POET’s optical engine is a result of a level of integration that POET alone has achieved as per slide 9. And because POET’s optical engine is so small  the power it uses is very small and the heat generated is very small. So you in effect have compounding benefits. While other companies do their best to reduce the size of their systems to fit into the larger pluggable form factor and struggle with both thermal and power limits POET has room to spare.

That message has to be delivered to investors in a way that they can understand.

POET today represents the only pathway forward for high density pluggables which is what industry wants to keep for as long as they can.

POET is working hard to leapfrog everyone and be at the very top of the food chain with the first 1.6T optical engine in a pluggable form factor. The path is very clear and very doable for POET.
