And yes, I can observe the same price action when placing a bit - like Clydes: The ask and bid pop always one cent higher until I cancel. Then drop back. There are market makers involved, and it seems to me that institutional entities are handling these MM, driving the SP down and then collecting shares from the inpatient guys. Some posters here seem to be their coworkers.
