Macnai, Thanks for sharing that  link. I really appreciated her deep understanding and her ability to present that understanding  in such a fundamental and unfiltered way. She provided a good overview of the complexities of dealing with waveguide coupling to fiber and transmission loss. The problems associated with tuning by heater placement (and metalization) which she generalized as "The Curse of Silicon Photonics''. 

As I watched that short clip, it became very clear why she has joined the POET movement. The problems she describes are in fact problems that POET has overcome with the flexibility of the Optical Interposer. What a great fit she is to the team! What a future we have in store for us.
