Google's Problem:
As the need for bandwidth increases, traditional architectures are not able to scale, as all transceivers must work at the aggregate bit rate of the entire system.
POET's Solution:
Working to productize novel silicon hybrid integration platform producing high speed 100G, 200G, 400G, 800G and 1.6/3.2 Tbps optical transmit and receive engines. The platform is suitable for data centers (and hyperscale data centers).
I believe POET developed the Lightbar Solution for Data Centers with Google in mind (initially).
I believe that POET has agreed to a supply agreement with a leading global supplier of lasers to make Google a happy camper (initially).
If you read this pdf file in-depth, you will see POET as the solution, or even improved solution, to that which Google is seeking. (cost/speed/passive/athermal/reliability/functionality/high volume production/reduction of required testing time/packaging/integration/line reduction for the fiber infrastructure/cost-sharing within the standard CMOS process.
Just waiting for the PR release. (Has anyone mentioned recently how inexpensive these shares are currently?)
