It took one day for my Fidelity account to settle down and two days for Merrill, but now that they're both done I noticed something interesting. While my total number of shares in each account was an even multiple of ten there were some individual lots that were odd numbers shares and I thought I was going to lose a few shares during the consolidation. For example on Merrill I had two odd lots that were 955 shares and 45 shares pre-consolidation, so I thought I was going to lose a total of one post-consolidation share due to one lot being rounded to 95 and the other to 4. This is what happened instead, and something similar happened to a couple of odd lots at Fidelity as well. So apparently even though POET wasn't offering fractional shares both of my brokerages did and I didn't lose a single share. Yay! I wasn't exactly going to cry over $6.60 but I'm certainly happy to see I got to keep it!
