DL was not able to meet the specifications issued by the Tier-1.
Gosh. If only POET had paid attention during the COBO Working Group sessions on laser standards, no?
Selection of the CW laser has nothing to do with the COBO working group. The standards defined by the Tier 1 are defined by IEEE and the various MSA.
So you actually think that the reason POET was not meeting the Tier 1’s CW laser requirements was because they were not on the COBO working group. That’s a stretch Leb. It really is.
We know that POET was working towards having athermal characteristics in the CW Laser and thus potentially a higher operating temperature but we don’t know what the Tier 1’s requirements are. And certainly for remote lasers operating temperatures can be dramatically reduced.
You seem to be hung up on the COBO for now? But if you really want to dig into the nuts and bolts of what POET is doing with a much broader overview into POETs world of multiple application I would tend to pay attention to 2021 Edition - IEEE Electronics Packaging Society
