Imo the turning point in POET's existence was the Sanan deal. That truly was the first "commercial validation" of the OI platform. A multi billion dollar company came in, did the DD on POET, and signed a deal to pony up cash for a JV in exchange for know-how in product assembly.

Today there are private equities inquiring about SPX's private shares, they want to get in before SPX starts selling and go public. Most people here don't understand the implication of this, but something like this does not happen to a nobody company. PEs do very deep DD, and they recognized that there will be serious demand for SPX's products, hence the inquiry for POET's portion of SPX. Demand for SPX's products means demand for POET's OIs, and so on. Commercial validations have been evident for some time now, and I expect that on announcements of contracts that we see the full value of the shares being unlocked.

Today I don't consider POET speculative anymore (at least not in the sense of a mining company waiting to strike gold). What speculative company has global operations, with faciltiies working around the clock to meet customer demands, has operational JV with the world's largest LED maker?
